In my last post, Ignite Missoula–Resumes in the Raw! I mentioned a site called Make it Missoula and hinted that I would soon be joining their team. Sure enough, it’s official.
I’ll be the host of my very own Make it Missoula blog called Work It!
I’ll talk about job hunting tips, winning resume techniques, interview secrets (similar topics that I touch on here), written for the Missoula, Montana job seeker. Don’t worry, I’ll still be here at Rainmaker, crafting your custom resumes and coaching for interview success, but I’ll contribute over there, too.
What Make it Missoula is all about
Make it Missoula started as a printed visitor’s guide. Since so many people who plan to relocate conduct their research online, the publisher, Carol Blodgett, recognized how helpful it would be to create the visitor’s guide online. And since going live, it has evolved to reach not just those who want to move here, but the local community as well.
“Make it Missoula aims to help Missoulians, visitors, and prospective businesses and residents alike in your search for real estate, employment, healthcare providers, schools, business resources, utility providers, or even a new watering hole.”
All about employment, too
Did you notice the employment category? Yep, that’s me. Or it will be. I’ll be writing lots and lots over there and I’ll post links to those articles, so you, Dear Reader, can enjoy them, too! I’ll even conduct interviews with Missoula employers to learn their answers to questions about how they hire, how many applicants they see for positions they advertise, what they’re looking for in a job candidate. I’ll feature other job experts and real live job seekers, too.
In fact, there will be a Q & A section, so I can answer (or find the answer!) to the Missoula job seeker’s specific questions. And don’t worry, lest this sound too serious, I will provide perspective from the lighter side, too. Your sense of humor may be one of your most important qualities when it comes to work!
Come visit
I invite you to come on over to Make it Missoula and to check out my latest posts! Or you can simply keep visiting me here at Rainmaker–I’ll include links to the latest Work It updates. They even got me to pose for a picture! I know–they ARE impressive. 🙂
